Charlie Reitzas
Director · Cinematographer · Editor · Actor
I’m a filmmaker based in New York. I run Charlie Reitzas Productions, making brand films, restaurant content, sports videos and short films across NYC, LA, Connecticut and San Diego.
I handle a project from start to finish: the idea, the shoot, the edit, the color and the sound. You work with one person who cares about every frame, not a chain of handoffs.
How I work
I shoot on cinema cameras with professional audio, then edit, color and mix every project myself. Most of my edit time goes into the things people feel without noticing: color that matches from shot to shot, clean sound, and titles that move right.
On set I keep things fast and relaxed, so the people in front of the camera act like themselves. Prepared, on schedule and easy to work with.
Selected work
Anchored in Love: brand film for a San Diego couples therapist
Colosseo Cucina Italiana: restaurant content in Solana Beach
Hotchkiss Volleyball: season hype video
Arnav Rao: On the Course, a golf film
Through the Wall: a short film I wrote and directed
Tokyo After Dark and Shibuya Rush: travel films shot in Japan
Now in production: Keep It Rolling: The Jerry Goldstein Story, a documentary about music industry veteran Jerry Goldstein, shot in Los Angeles. I’m directing, and it’s in the edit now.
On screen
I also work as a professional actor, with credits including Black Rabbit (Netflix), Dear Edward (Apple TV+), The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and SNL.
Time on big sets shapes how I run my own. I know what a good day on set feels like from in front of the camera, and I bring that to every shoot.
